Dementia is an umbrella term to described a group symptoms or a group of disorders that constitute the presence of an "abnormal" and neurodegenerative process occurring in the brain. Alzheimer's disease is the most common form of dementia, accounting for 60 -80% of dementia cases and, importantly, which has its own specific cause, which continues to be a major focus of research initiatives around the world.
